This morning, my youngest son came downstairs and we turned off the lights, sat at the table watching and listening to the gentle rain. I am grateful for the peaceful time we had, the rejuvenating rain and the beauty of the world!
I have a great friend (probably worthy of “BFF Keychain” status) that I have known since Middle School. I have lived in Kansas City while he was in Denver, He has lived in Michigan and now North Carolina while I am in Broomfield, Colorado. We still have remained very close, texting weekly, even talking every once in a while ;). I consider him one of the best people on the planet and I am truly grateful for our friendship that has stood the test of time and distance. Yesterday, he called me to ask if I would be his newest son’s Godfather! I am completely honored and humbled! So thankful!
In the past couple years, I have become great friends with Blake. We’ve lived in the same neighborhood for a few years, our kiddos are best friends. Sheri and Erin (his wife) are great friends as well. They would come over spur-of-the moment for barbeques or vice versa, we brew beer together. All in all, pretty sure we are kindred spirits :). They are moving to Golden, only about a 30 min drive, but won’t be as easy to “pop on over.” I will miss that, but I know our friendship will also endure. I am grateful!
Sheri has been best friends with Kim(my) since I think elementary school! Kim has lived in California, New Zealand, even Antarctica! They have remained best friends through it all and still turn to each other for guidance and connection! It is truly amazing to see and I am grateful!
Isaac turned 10 this weekend!!! Where does the time fly to? I am so grateful to be his dad. He is such a loving, compassionate person and the world is a better place with him here! I am also grateful for the friendship he and Payton share. They are brothers in every sense of the word (positive and negative) but I know they would do anything for each other. Payton wrote a wonderful heart felt card for Isaac to go along with the gift he got him for his bday. I am truly a grateful daddy.
We had an amazing trip to New Orleans last week. I am so grateful for time away with family, adventures, learning, history and love!
I am also so grateful for getting back to “the grind” of getting the kids ready for school, heading to work, serving anyone I can through chiropractic, making lunches and family dinners. I. Love. All. Of. It. 🙂
This morning, I got ready a bit earlier than normal. I thought I was driving the carpool to Payton’s school, but they wanted to brave the cold (like the tough 6th graders they are) and ride their bikes after playing some football at the park. Anyway, I was all ready early, so I had some more time. I decided to make some green tea (with some ginger pieces), and settle into my morning. I meditated for a bit longer, I read a bit longer, and I wrote a bit longer this morning. It was great! I am grateful for unexpected time, freedom and yummy green tea.
P.S. I LOVE the insight timer meditation app! Check it out if you need a simple, easy to use meditation app.
I am so grateful for all the people who trust me (and whom I can trust) in my life. I have an amazing wife, wonderful children, a brother, 2 sisters, and some incredibly close friends. I am blessed to have a profession that I get to help people feel and live better, and they trust me to do so.
Trust is an amazing thing and I am beyond grateful for the amount of trust I have in my life!
I am grateful for all the knowledge (and variety) contained in books. I love reading inspirational, motivational, business, personal mastery type books. I also enjoy reading books that are just enjoyable to read (I am reading a Dan Brown book as well).
I am grateful for all the writing tools I have at my disposal: I have a journal by my bedside, I have a great program on my Mac at home, I have Evernote to take notes on any device, I have theseeds4life.com that allows me to submit small articles and I have blogs to upload to.
I am grateful for Quickbooks, it helps me keep my work accounts balanced and up to date with (relative) ease.
