Learning and implementing

This weekend I attended an amazing Pediatric Neurology seminar. I learned applicable things for my practice and for my life. We discussed the importance of social connections on the human brain (adult and pediatric), and the importance of right brain activities (creativity, fun, play) on brain and nervous system development and health. We discussed some alarming statistics (kids ages 13-18 spend almost 9 hours a day on entertainment “media”, over 1million kids under the age of 5 are on psychiatric drugs, etc) and talked about how all of this needs to change. It was a great seminar and I am truly excited to help my patients, friends and my family love better, feel better and become more connected and alive!

We also had a lot of fun with a good friend and their wonderful family. I am grateful!

Little gifts, great coffee

When we were in Estes Park last weekend, Sheri bought me this mug (I swear I didn’t pull a Michael Scott and buy it myself).

I am grateful for the little gifts we get each other as tokens of our love :-).

I also am grateful for this great creamer

It is yummy!

Wild water weekend!

This weekend Isaac, Payton and I went to Great Wolf Lodge in Colorado Springs. It was a lot of fun! Isaac treated us to the weekend actually, since he sold enough popcorn through Cub Scouts to get us the hotel room! We wish Sheri could’ve joined us (but she was under the weather), but I am grateful for time with my amazing boys!

This weekend was great! We spent some amazing family time, sheri and I had a wonderful date night, we created vision boards as a family, booked our trip to Costa Rica and talked about how bright the future (and the present) is!

One word

A few years ago, I discovered this book:

I loved it! The idea is each year, choose a word (rather than a resolution) that you want your life/year to be about. In the past I have chosen “Inspire” and “growth”. This year I choose “serenity.” I love the idea of picking a word that will serve as a theme for the year. This year, I discovered this: http://www.my intent.org

It’s a way to put your word into use. You “stamp” your word (using chisel type letters and a hammer) into a gold or silver token and put it on a bracelet, keychain, necklace, etc.

I am grateful for new ways that help me stay inspired, keep me on course for living my purpose!

Happy 2018!!

What a trip!

This past weekend, my wife and I joined 4 other chiropractic couples at an amazing house in Cabo San Lucas. We had an unbelievable time! We “talked shop”, laughed, relaxed, recharged, ate (a lot of) great food and connected as individuals. It was a lot of fun. I am thankful that we were able to attend! I am thankful for the people who came with us (old friends and new). I am thankful for the beautiful world we live in. I am thankful for my amazing wife whom I adore! I am thankful!
