Mary’s 65th

I am so grateful to have such supportive in-laws! This weekend was my mother in-laws 65th birthday (it’s actually today, but we celebrated yesterday) and her “semi-retirement” party at our house! We had about 60 people come by! It was a great time, and it was great to see all the support she has, because she has been AMAZINGLY awesome for our family! I am grateful!

FYI that may look kind of like a big vat of oatmeal, but it actually was AWESOME APPLE CRISP!!!

I am grateful for Halloween and all the fun activities that lead up to it in the month of October.

I am grateful for the laughs I share throughout the day with everyone.

Sister Sister

I am so thankful that I have gotten to spend so much time with my sister-in-law, the last couple of months reconnecting and creating new memories! It has been quite a full house but I have truly enjoyed it!

One question

Every night at dinner we go around the table and answer the question: “what’s one great thing that happened today?”  I love how as a family we focus on gratitude and I love hearing the stories they all share!

This is probably going to sound weird, but I am obviously grateful for food, but I am grateful for the certain food that can bring back memories of places or people.

A sesame seed bagel, and vegetable cream cheese will always remind me of Boston, MA.

Placek will always remind me of my Grandma.

French Onion Soup will always remind me of my Dad.

I have a list, but I will end there =)

I am reading a book by Tony Robbins, and this morning there was a chapter that discusses “kaizen” which is a Japanese term for constant, incremental improvement. That is my focus today (and everyday). If we can just improve a tiny bit each day (our smile, our love, our gratitude, our compassion, our mentality) the world will be a much better place!
